Kazakhstan plans to increase expenses on agriculture significantly

This year's funding of the agricultural sector will be increased by 20 billion of tenge at once. Today, the chairman of the Committee on Agriculture of the Majilis, Roman Madinov, has informed about it in Central Communications office. According to the parliamentarian, the updated national budget for 2015 has contains aforementioned increase in spending of the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the parliamentarian, the updated national budget for 2015 has contains aforementioned increase in spending of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Today, the chairman of the Committee on Agriculture of the Majilis, Roman Madinov, has announced that parliamentarians and members of the government have a priority to finance agricultural sector in the current economic situation. The parliament member referred to the notable historical experience, that during the most difficult years, agricultural sector had always shown a positive result. According to him, at times of first global crisis in 2008, it was the agriculture of Kazakhstan that showed increase in gross output and revenues.

Roman Madinov, the chairman of the Committee on Agriculture of the Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan says: "Compared with 2008, we have further strengthened our food security. Today, the Programme on the meat export has been filled with tons of Kazakhstani meat and we are already beginning to export. In this regard, despite the global economic difficulties, we believe that we will continue to develop the agriculture in Kazakhstan at the same pace".

Madinov reported that Kazakhstan landowners continued to receive fuel at reduced prices. Every year, the domestic farmers were provided with petroleum, oils, and lubricants at a discount during the planting and harvesting periods. The Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture recalled that Kazakhstan took first place in the world regarding the export of flour – about half a million tons per year. At the same time, the county considered new niches for import substitution and export opportunities. For example, today Kazakhstan imports lots of foreign cheese. However, at the same time, the country produces a considerable amount of its own milk.
